description An incredibly attractive and interesting nocturnal gecko which is very easy to keep. This species was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 1994.
appearance It has 2 rows of spike like scales starting above its eyes going back towards its shoulders. No other Rhacodactylus gecko shares this trait.

cage It should be tall instead of wide. (e.g. Wooden Terrarium, Glass Terrarium)
branch As it is Arboreal, a lot of branches are needed to climb and stay on (e.g. Habba Tree , Sand-Blasted Grapevine)
substrate Soil, moss (e.g. Forest Bed , Forest Moss), barks (e.g. Repti Bark, Coconut Bark)
activity period Nighttime (nocturnal);
give heat and help monitoring by infrared lamps (e.g. Nightlight Red Bulb, Infrared Heat Lamp) where the light is invisible for it but humans
temperature 22 - 26 ¢XC -- day   (e.g. Daylight Blue Bulb, Basking Spot Lamp)

diet Omnivorous (both plant and meat-eating)
primary food (75%) mashed fruits, different flavors of canned baby foods (e.g. banana, pears, peaches, apricots, Hawaiian delight)
occasional food (25%) insects, worms, etc
how often to feed? 4 - 5 times a week for hatchlings to juveniles;
3 - 4 times a week for subadults to adults
notes Remove all the remaining insects because they (specially crickets) will be harassing it at night, resulting stress.

Food items should be no larger than 1/3 of the size of its head.
